MN Historical Society Exhibit - Coming of Age, The 1968 Generation

On March 9th the Roseau County Museum will open a new traveling exhibit: Coming of Age, The 1968 Generation. Discover how Minnesota teens came of age in a decade swirling in political turmoil and revolutionary social change.  Some Minnesota teens actively carved out their identities, while other were far less intentional.  Pivotal events were emotionally “far away” for one and groundshakingly close for another.  Normal life, everything from dates, and 4H to American Bandstand shared the calendar with an undefined future.  Explore the 1968 Generation, a decade when people fought for liberty, feminism rose, television shows proliferated, the draft knocked, music “was huge,” fashion showed its colors and assassinations betrayed something “very wrong in this country.”  The exhibit will run through June 9th.

Museum hours are Mon-Fri from 9:30 am to 5 pm.
