  • BEMIS HILL

    Bemis Hill Campground has two campsites and four horse campsites. All are considered “primitive,” designed to furnish only the basic needs of the camper. Campsites consist of a cleared area, fire ring, and table. In addition, vault toilets, garbage cans, and drinking water is available. The four horse camp sites have tie rails, manure disposal, mounting areas, and a picnic shelter. Additional 15 horse trailer /truck parking is available across the road from the campground. All sites are on a first-come, first-served basis. The campground also offers a winter sledding slope, a shelter, and access to snowmobile trails. There is good hunting and berry picking near the campground.

  • ROSEAU RIVER WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA (WMA)

    Roseau River Wildlife Management Area (WMA) is more than 81,000 acres in size that includes five state wildlife management areas. The WMA also includes wetland impoundments with a 27-mile long dike system. Roseau River WMA provides important breeding, nesting, and migration habitat for waterfowl, shorebirds, and many other species of migrant and resident birds. The WMA is part of the Pine to Prairie International Birding Trail. There are five boat launches available for the public to use. Two boat launches are located on the east and west ends of Pool 1 west, one at the northwest corner of Pool 2, one at the west end of Pool 3, and one along the Roseau River. Camping is permitted at 18 locations and hunter walking trails are available for use throughout the WMA. Most of the WMA is open to public hunting, trapping, bird watching and wildlife viewing, and much more.
