DAY TRIP

Ideas

As Ansel Adams said: “In wisdom gathered over time I have found that every experience is a form of exploration”.

  • VISIT THE NORTHERN MOST POINT OF THE CONTINENTAL U.S.

Start your day with a local breakfast, then fill up with some gas and make the 56 mile drive to the Northwest Angle where you can spend the day fishing, take a photo op at the northern most point, explore and so much more!

  • HIT THE TRAILS AT HAYES LAKE STATE PARK

Grab your fishing pole and outdoor gear and head the 24 miles to Hayes Lake State Park. Hop on a trail and head to the water and find crappie, sunfish, largemouth bass, and northerns. Take off your shoes on the sandy beach or go explore in a kayak or canoe. As the sunsets roast some marshmallows and hot dogs over a warm fire, reminiscing the day.

  • CANOE AND BOAT AT LAKE BRONSON STATE PARK

Hook up the boat and take the family to Lake Bronson (46 miles from Roseau). Enjoy excellent swimming beaches, tubing, skiing and good fishing. Don’t forget Lake Bronson has a geo-caching checkpoint. Rentals available for boats, kayaks and canoes!

  • Launch your kayaks/canoes in the Roseau River at the City Park

Launch your kayaks/canoes in the Roseau River at the City Park and head south through the scenic twists and turns of the river. Be sure to pack a picnic lunch because you will arrive in Malung just in time to stop for a break on shore.

  • HAVE YOU EVER TASTED FRESH BLUEBERRY PIE?

The blueberries are plentiful in Beltrami Forest in the month of July. Bring your empty pails. Spend the afternoon in the forest picking wild blueberries. Enjoy the peaceful scenery of the woods while filling your buckets. Hopefully you won’t eat them all before you get home to your pie baking activity! Fresh blueberries are delicious!
